Russia and Ukraine have gulf to bridge as negotiations step up

The foreign ministers of Ukraine and Russia are meeting on Thursday in the highest-level contacts since Moscow’s invasion — but are expected to remain far apart on steps to end the war between the two countries.

Ukraine’s Dmytro Kuleba is holding talks with Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov on the sidelines of a diplomatic forum in Turkey, their first meeting since Moscow invaded its neighbour on February 24.
